This project is a renovation of a traditional rural house in Gerês, creating a serene retreat nestled within a natural forest landscape where architecture harmonizes seamlessly with its surroundings. The house is characterized by a simple, gabled form and raw,
earthy materials that echo the tones of nature. Expansive openings connect the interior to the outdoors,
allowing natural light to gently flood the space while framing views of the surrounding trees.
Inside, warm wooden finishes and stone textures cultivate a calm, grounded atmosphere. A sculptural
wooden spiral staircase anchors the living area, adding a sense of movement and refined elegance. The layout flows organically,
offering spaces designed for rest, reflection, and connection. This is a home where the old and the new live side by side.
