AREN HOUSE Private Residence 340 m² Guimarães, Portugal
Aren House is defined by the dialogue between concrete and the warm presence of wood. The architecture unfolds through a sequence of calm, horizontal volumes that open seamlessly to the surrounding landscape inviting natural light. Inside, wooden surfaces introduce softness and depth, balancing the raw character of the concrete and creating an atmosphere of understated comfort and quiet intimacy. A concrete staircase rises as the central gesture of the project, guiding the way to the rooftop terrace and becoming a defining spatial element. A striking circular void frames a single tree, elevating it to the level of a cherished element. Thoughtfully placed openings and material transitions enhance the sensory experience, encouraging moments of pause and reflection throughout the house.
